- This viewpoint article explores the Scopus AI — Elsevier’s innovative add on to the Scopus database, which allows users to engage with the Scopus database in natural language rather than via Boolean operators. Scopus AI’ strength lies in combining the communication properties of a language model with the information integrity of peer-reviewed sources. It does not substitute the need to review the literature, but can be helpful in search, especially if stakes are low and a systematic approach is unnecessary. Because of increased sophistication of tools and information systems, the degree of competencies required from users also increases. Reasonable understanding of how AI works, as well as search expertise, source criticism and scientific skepticism remain essential. With these in place, and with a clear understanding of the purpose of various information tasks, users can be better positioned to decide how best to employ various tools to get the job done.Forskere: Leticia Antunes Nogueira
- Formålet med prosjektet FULVIS (Forskningsbasert utvikling og læring i den videregående skole) har vært å styrke lærere i den videregående skole sin kompetanse i vitenskapelig metode og kritisk tenking i lys av endringene som følger av de nye læreplanene i Fagfornyelsen. Skoleåret 2022-2023 ble FULVIS gjennomført for første gang (pilot 1). Pilot 2 ble gjennomført høsten 2023. - Councils for disabled people have been a participation scheme in the municipalities for many years. This arrangement has been incorporated into the Local Government Act since 2019. The state authorities have established guidelines and recommendations for the councils’ activities. Through a survey directed towards the leaders of municipal councils for disabled people, we have studied various aspects of the councils, such as how they are appointed, organised and function. A major finding is that small municipalities face significant challenges in fulfilling the expectations set by the state authorities regarding how the councils should operate. We discuss what these challenges may mean for representation as well as the concepts of system capacity and citizen effectiveness. - I denne rapporten beskrives hvordan de videregående skolene i Nordland har organisert elev og lærlingtjenestene (ELT), hvilke tiltak skolene benytter seg av for å redusere frafall, og hvilke erfaringer lederne av ELT har med arbeidet til ELT.
