Julien Lebel is a geographer whose research interests include transport, mobility, effects of climate change, coastal zone management, local communities in the Arctic, geopolitics and cross-border issues, tourism, and implementation of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) adopted by the UN. Cartography is used as an important tool in his research, especially to perform analyses at different geographical scales, to study transport networks, and to highlight conflicting interests and diverse developments that impact the environment and local communities.
